Major Responsibilities:
Manages operations and physician practice needs for AMG Rheumatology, IV Therapy and Pediatric Specialty service lines.
1)Assures that processes are aligned with standards of care and best practices in clinical practice areas.
2)Develops and implements policies and procedures to assure effective and efficient operations consistent with Advocate and IMMC's policies and procedures and overall mission.
3)Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards.
4)Manages Illinois Masonic time share contracts with physicians in collaboration with Vice President, Clinical Institutes, Business Development and Hospital Based Programs.
5)Functions in a nurse clinician role supporting Rheumatology and IV Therapy
6)Follows all AIMMC nursing policies and supports AMG clinical initiatives.
7)Monitors and analyzes CQI and performance improvement projects.
8)Ensures patient flow and makes necessary staffing adjustments
Provides Leadership for Outpatient IV Therapy procedures, Rheumatology and Pediatric Specialty
1)Preparation, implementation and monitoring of FY budgets in collaboration with Vice President, Clinical Institutes, Business Development and Hospital Based Programs according to established guidelines.
2)Provides oversight of departments performances to promote the KRA achievement for staff and physician practices.
3)Oversees statistical reporting for monthly information to Finance.
4)Exercises cost control by using all available data provided to monitor and evaluate actual expenses compared to budget
5)Establishes appropriate patient charges and outpatient billing through coordination as necessary with AMG and AIMMC business office and other ancillary departments. Supervises data input to ensure accurate information and patient charges for physician and hospital revenue.
6)Collaborating with Medical Director and Administrative Director, evaluates and monitors environment and procedures for safety to ensure a safe environment for patients, family and staff
7)Evaluates needs of center and seeks appropriate equipment and resources to maintain a high level of performance.
8)Establishes and implements changes to procedures initiated by new equipment or hospital wide procedural changes and provide related staff education.
9)Coordinates opportunities to improve patient satisfaction for centers.
10)Coordinates and oversees dissemination of necessary information for quality outcomes related to physician practice and hospital procedures.
Supervises associate work and monitors staff development activities to ensure clinical competence.
1)Develops and implements a written orientation plan for new employees and evaluates its effectiveness in making necessary modifications
2)Assist and support staff in direct patient care activities for assessing, teaching and evaluating clinical skills and knowledge. Assist staff to assure that quality and timely patient care is rendered.
3)Monitors and documents staff performance, maintaining organized personnel files with necessary information to meet Accrediting Organization standards, conducts performance appraisals and establishes professional self-development goals
4)Assures staff has opportunities to attend in-services, seminars and training courses relevant to area of clinical practice
5)Oversees development of relevant care competency and testing according to hospital guidelines. Assures that staff working in unit maintain current competency
6)Supports the Department of Nursing Magnet program and adheres to the leadership of the Magnet program.
7)Coordinates performance deficiency resolutions and opportunities.
Supports and provides administrative coordination of the AIMMC and AMG system wide goals and KRA (Key Result Area)
1)Supports the service initiatives for Health Outcomes, Associate Engagement, Patient Engagement, Provider Engagement, Growth and Funding our Future goals of Advocate IMMC and AMG.
2)Monitors patient satisfaction through patient/family, staff and physicians. Collaborating with Medical Director, manages recommendations for patient resolutions.
3)Submits necessary reports that reflect the goals and objectives of the unit.
4)Supports and functions as role model for Behaviors of Excellence.
5)Insures associate accountability for Behaviors of Excellence supporting best Practices for quality outcomes.
Builds and maintains relationships with key AMG leaders and hospital divisions
4)Facilitates clinical practice which is consistent with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with Accrediting Organization guidelines.
5)Ensures that associates are able to identify variations in patient coverage, referral guidelines, prior authorization and participating provider information and provide necessary resources and tools.
6)Develops departmental policies and procedures, including annual review and update.
2)Develops and implements relevant performance initiative department programs, which reflect important aspects of care, and submit quarterly reports.
3)Assembles data, evaluates outcomes and implements corrective action to improve patient care.
1)Identifies and implements changes that will enhance effectiveness of patient care delivery. Alters schedules to ensure optimal utilization of all resources and patient care needs will be met.
Promotes and facilitates productive relationships between health team members and other disciplines
1)Promotes an atmosphere of mutual respect among nurses, medical staff, residents and support personnel.
2)Ensures patient satisfaction through patient/family, staff and physicians regarding perception of care received. Monitors and arbitrates patients, staff and physician problems
3)Communicates as needed with the physician practices of those doctors who lease space in Pediatric Specialty Center.
4)Works closely with Legal to develop and provide time share contracts for Pediatric, Orthopedic and Urology Departments with space leasing.
Assumes a leadership role to coordinate and facilitate relationships with Pharmacy, Interventional Radiology, Emergency Department, Ambulatory Services and other areas of the hospital.
1)Acts as preceptor/role model
2)Participates in development and implementation of Infusion nursing standards.
3)Contributes to hospital functions by attendance at meetings
4)Participates in hospital programs and presentations as indicated
5)Participate in marketing, publicity initiatives.
6)Supports Advocate Medical Group as needed.
Licensure:
Nurse, Registered (RN)
Education/Experience Required:
-BS in Nursing -1-2 years previous ambulatory or related leadership experience -3-5 years related clinical experience Board Certification by 12/31/2015 or within two years of hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Clinically appropriate skills Ability to cooperate and work well with internal and external customers. Excellent communication skills. Team building skills Communication skills Knowledge of technology as it relates to health care IT.
Current RN License in IL CPR certification.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
This position works in health care and will be required to have annual flu vaccinations. Ability to coach others. Ability to implement policies and procedures and evaluate the communication skills of others. Ability to act responsibly and independently. Ability to work collaboratively.
