Surety Bond Administrator

About The Role

This position will assist clients with identifying and providing for their bond needs.  This position works with the Client Advisors and Surety Company representatives in handling and the execution of all types of surety bonds. 

Responsibilities: 

Maintain and update client financial and bond files.

Review contracts and bond forms and extract relevant information.

Ensure the accuracy of bid and final bond requests.

Prepare bid and final bonds.

Frequently keep clients updated on request status.

Process final close-outs for premium audits.

Act as liaison with surety companies and maintain surety relationships.

Act as liaison with clients and client staff.

Assist Client Advisors.

Assist other team members.

Prepare routine/follow-up correspondence.

Prepare overnight packages and receipts.

Provide day-to-day service, anticipate customer’s needs, and respond to client issues/questions in a timely manner.

Assists or completes other tasks as directed by platform management.

Seeks referrals from clients and follows through to help generate new business.

Refers current and prospective clients to Benefits Department and Personal Insurance for solicitation of those lines of business.

Coach and mentor junior members of the commercial lines, may lead team meetings and initiatives.

Comply with agency standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements: 

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation in correspondence. 

Must have a high level of understanding accounting or strong math skills.

High degree of critical thinking; ability to problem solve when the answer is not readily apparent. 

Demonstrated attention to detail, producing outcomes with minimal errors. 

Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced environment. 

Ability to demonstrate advanced level proficiency with a variety of technology including MS Office 

Knowledge of Agency Management Systems; Applied Epic a plus.

Able to function independently and as part of a team. 

Complies with continuing education requirements for agent licensing as well as professional designations.

Keeps informed regarding industry information, new production information, coverages, and technology to continually improve knowledge and stay current.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree’s degree and/or 5+ years commercial insurance experience or recognized equivalent is required.

Prior surety bond experience is highly desirable.

Prior bookkeeping and/or account experience is desirable.

Prior paralegal experience is desirable.

Hold and maintain appropriate state Property and Casualty Insurance License(s) Or obtain within three (3) months of hire date.

Initiate, obtain, and maintain (CISR elite, CIC, or other advanced designations)
