ResponsibilitiesWe have an opportunity for an Executive Underwriter-Surety to join our team! You will be responsible to produce and underwrite new and renewal business from assigned agents/brokers in the primary line of business. This position involves both outside and inside business development and includes direct responsibility for agency development and management within a book of business.

Key functions include but are not limited to:
Underwrite, assess, and manage surety program needs within a portfolio of active accountsEffectively evaluate bond forms and contract documents in an effort to assess riskDevelop and leverage productive agency/client relationships through a high level of visibility with agents, brokers and clients in support of business objectivesPlan and execute effective regular travel to develop and enhance new and existing producer and account relationshipsEffectively communicate the mission and objectives of Berkley Surety in account meetings with confident, clear communicationDocument and maintain accurate account information in our information systems, on a timely basisPerform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience7-10+ years of Surety underwriting experienceBanking or Credit Analysis background is a plusAbility to to read, analyze, discuss and interpret financial statements, bond forms, contract documents and government regulations and reach appropriate risk assessment conclusionsEffective oral and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and effective reports and business correspondence so that others will clearly understand the content and the intentAbility to provide well developed recommendations in support of new and existing accounts, as well as client bond needsStrong analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skillsStrong PC skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentSelf-motivation and an out-going orientation with strong customer focus

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees including:
• Base Salary Range: $125,000 - $180,000
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus
