This position requires prior experience in a medical office setting, and it requires an understanding of physician office practices. *Candidates without relevant experience will not be considered.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the Office Manager, schedules all surgeries in a timely, accurate, and courteous manner. Coordinates day to day operations for specific surgeon(s). Communicates with patients to ensure their understanding of the surgical process and requirements. Obtains pre-authorization from insurance companies for all scheduled procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum:
High School or equivalent education.
Preferred:
AAS degree in Medical Assistant/Secretarial Science or experience in business with emphasis on healthcare or related field.
LICENSE:
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:
WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum: Medical terminology knowledge or course completion. Knowledge and understanding of physician ordering practices, and basic scheduling database maintenance. Preferred: Prior surgical services scheduling in an acute care setting.
SKILLS: Minimum: Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the people in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Computer literacy Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic scheduling system Salary Range: 20.11-23.34
