Must be able to attend mandatory training days week of start. New Hire Orientation (Monday – all day) and Patient Care Essentials/CPR (Tuesday & Thursday).
Summary
Under the direction of an assigned team member, provides care by selecting and assembling instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for the surgical procedure: assisting with patient positioning and prep; managing clean and contaminated instruments and supplies; scrubbing for procedures and passing instruments. Must be able to anticipate, plan, and respond to the needs of the patient, surgeon, and other team members. Must be able to recognize and handle biohazard materials correctly. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, patient families, coworkers, and physicians.
Education
Completed High school education or GED. Must be enrolled in a Surgical Technician Program.
Licensure/Certification
Must have current CPR certification.
Experience
Must be enrolled in a Surgical Technician Program.
Other Qualifications
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications. Must be able to lift 50 pounds; 100 pounds shared lifting; push 200 pounds.
