Surgery Lead Veterinary Technician
**VCA Bay Area Veterinary Specialists (BAVS) located in San Leandro, CA is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to Lead the Surgery/Anesthesia Department.** **Location:** 14790 Washington Ave, San Leandro, CA 94578 East in the San Francisco Bay area We are seeking an **RVT** who enjoys challenging and engaging anesthesia cases, has a desire to further their knowledge in the field, and is committed to acting as a leader and a team player. At **VCA BAVS** , the sense of teamwork and the culture of working together is no less important than the level of medical and surgical care that patients receive. VTS (Anesthesia & Analgesia) or (Surgery) are welcomed, but not required. The equivalent experience will be considered. Those interested in pursuing a VTS in Anesthesia & Analgesia, or Surgery, will be supported by the team. **Required qualifications:** Must be a **Registered Veterinary Technician in California** or eligible within 3 months of start. Previous experience with companion animal anesthesia (dog/cat), diagnostic imaging, operating room procedures, and post-operative care. Excellent communication skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, specialists, clients, and patients; ability to readily learn new procedures, and must be adaptable. **Schedule:** Full-time opportunity. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in general practice or 6 months-1 year of experience in a fast-paced emergency.
