Surgery Scheduler
Description We are in search of a Surgery Scheduler to join our team in our San Francisco location. This role is within the Healthcare/NHS industry and requires a professional who is proficient in customer relationship management (CRM), medical coding, and surgery scheduling. This position is a contract to hire employment opportunity, providing the chance to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Scheduling surgeries, primarily for orthopedic cases, ensuring all necessary details are confirmed prior to surgery • Collaborating with other schedulers at doctors' offices, primarily through email with occasional phone calls • Verifying and maintaining patient information in the CRM system • Conducting data entry tasks related to patient information and surgery details • Confirming the acceptance of patient insurance without the need for pre-authorizations • Utilizing medical coding skills to confirm procedure codes and equipment needed for surgery • Not acting as the main point of contact for patients, but working on cases and only calling if information is incomplete or missing • Confirming patient information and ensuring the accuracy of all records • Utilizing excellent communication skills to interact with team members and other healthcare professionals • Adhering to all healthcare regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Requirements • Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in surgery scheduling or a similar role. • Proficiency in CRM software to ensure efficient management of patient information and appointment scheduling. • Ability to handle authorizations, including verifying insurance coverage, obtaining necessary permissions, and ensuring all paperwork is in order. • Experience with billing functions within a healthcare setting, including submitting and tracking invoices. • Familiarity with charts and graphs for visual representation of patient information or surgical statistics. • Knowledge of medical coding, including ICD-10 and CPT codes, to ensure accurate record keeping and billing. • Experience in managing both inbound and outbound calls in a professional and efficient manner. • Excellent email communication skills to liaise with patients, medical professionals, and insurance companies. • Proven ability in scheduling surgeries, coordinating with surgical teams, and managing any changes or cancellations. ­Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
