The centralized scheduler is directly accountable to admitting leadership. The Centralized Scheduler routinely schedules tests/procedure cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event. This may include, but is not limited to: + schedule clinic visits, surgery, G.I. Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Nutritional Services, Infusion units or any other location where scheduling of a test or procedure may occur + coordinates with departments as necessary + ensures that accurate, complete and thorough patient demographics are entered into the computer system, including insurance and authorizations if applicable + notifies departments as necessary of various services that may require, equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries + prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on-call list to appropriate departments or personnel Qualifications Education, Experience and Training + high school graduate or GED Equivalent, required + knowledge of multiple insurance authorization requirements + 1-2 year previous experience in a hospital environment, preferred + knowledge of medical terminology + effective written and verbal communication skills + ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines + analytical and problem-solving skills + customer service experience, required + strong clerical and computer skills we are #hiring a #surgeryscheduler or #scheduler for the #surgerycenter at #southkansascitysurgerycenter or #SKCSC who needs #customerservice experience along with #medicalterminology and #patient and #clerical and #computer skills #LI-MP1 Connect With Us!
