Job Title: Medical Assistant/Surgery Scheduler

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Assistant/Surgery Scheduler to join our busy Colon and Rectal Clinic team. As a Medical Assistant/Surgery Scheduler, you will play a critical role in supporting our physicians and staff with patient care, administrative tasks, and surgical scheduling. Our clinic sees a high volume of patients, so we need someone who can efficiently manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule surgical procedures and obtain pre-authorization from insurance companies as necessaryCoordinate with hospitals and surgery centers to confirm surgical schedules and arrangementsCommunicate with patients and families to provide surgical instructions, answer questions, and address concernsEnsure accurate and timely documentation of surgical schedules and patient informationRequirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a surgical or specialty clinicCertification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) requiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesProficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and practice management systemsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a high patient volume
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a colon and rectal surgery clinic or similar specialtyKnowledge of surgical procedures and terminology related to colon and rectal surgeryBilingual or multilingual skillsPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
