Surgery Scheduling Coordinator
Overview Fairview Health Services is hiring a Surgery Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at our M Health Fairview St Johns Hospital location in Maplewood, MN. Join us in providing and supporting outstanding care to our patients and community! Performs scheduling & billing functions within Perioperative Services in addition to other clerical duties to meet the goals of quality care and service excellence of Fairview. Schedule: This position will work 0.6 FTE (48 hrs per pay period). This position wil work evening shifts Monday to Friday 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Fairview Health Services is an award-winning nonprofit health care system with more than 24,000 employees and 2,300 aligned physicians. Responsibilities Job Description Performs efficient and accurate scheduling to ensure the exchange of information and promote the coordination of services. This may include using multiple computer programs to ensure the exchange of information and promote the coordination of services. Ensures entry of all services and billing records. Communicates questions to manager, charge nurse or nurse in procedure. Participates actively in department problem solving, identifying problems, potential solutions and methods of implementation. Displays excellent customer service skills with effective communication and interpersonal skills to enhance the patient and family experience for internal and external customers. Assists with ongoing system maintenance to ensure an accurate, organized and effective database. Completes routine duties and other clerical duties, as assigned, which may include: updates of supply requisitions, preference cards/extended preference cards, preparation of necessary reports, records and other updates, assessment and addition of providers and employees to provider file. Qualifications Required: Two or more years of medical administrative experience. Preferred Knowledge/Skills: Experience working with surgical scheduling and coordination a huge plus. Digital literacy including Microsoft Office applications, Epic and applications associated with performing basic work tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to work within and handle a large volume of communication and interactions with surgeons, clinics and other hospital departmetns. An understanding of supply and charging processes and attention to detail.
