Veterinary Emergency Service & Veterinary Specialty Center in Madison, WI, is expanding its Surgery Service and is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team!
Day To Day Of Our Surgery Technicians:
Our Surgery Technicians are exposed to diverse and stimulating anesthesia cases. Our board-certified surgeons perform intricate surgeries in the chest or abdomen, complex fractures, repair torn ligaments, remove cancerous growths, manage extensive non-healing wounds, reconstructive and neurologic surgeries. Technical skills are sharpened, and new techniques are learned. The Surgery Service uses the most advanced imaging, monitoring tools and tap into the expertise of our specialists.
The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:
• Venipuncture, IV catheter placements, and laboratory/diagnostic duties
• Physical examinations and patient assessment
• Surgical preparation and assisting in surgery
• Maintaining proper sterile conditions
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Maintain patient records
• Assisting with postoperative care of the patient
Schedule: Full-Time, 4 x 10s.
Requirements for the Surgery Technician Role:
• State credentials/license (CVT, LVT, RVT) or internship trained
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, etc.)
• Anesthesia experience, 2 years experience required
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
