Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Surgical Oncologist, Advanced Practice Provider to join the team. This role will be full-time day shift from Monday – Friday, Day Shift. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will play a key role in supporting the Division of Surgical Oncology at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. Working alongside fellowship-trained surgical oncologists, endocrine surgeons, and a multidisciplinary team, the APP will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the growth of innovative programs within the division.

Perform comprehensive assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations for patients with HPB (benign and malignant), upper GI, soft tissue sarcoma, melanoma, and other oncological conditions. Collaborate with surgeons to manage preoperative and postoperative care, including planning and executing evidence-based treatment protocols. Assist in outpatient clinics by providing consultations, follow-up care, and patient education. Possible participation in outpatient surgical procedures Conduct minor diagnostic or therapeutic procedures as credentialed and necessary for patient care. Collaborate with surgical oncology nurse navigators, outpatient nursing staff, inpatient APPs, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless patient care throughout the treatment journey. Support the regionally dominant melanoma program and assist in growing the HIPEC program by actively contributing to patient management and program developmentAdditional Requirements:
Education: For Nurse Practitioners: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post-masters certificate program for nurse practitioners, OR a certificate from an education program that is accredited by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs/Schools, American College of Nurse Midwives, American Association of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing; For Physician Assistants: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Experience: Experience in Surgical Oncology preferred.
