ChristianaCare is now accepting candidates for a Physician Assistant to join the inpatient OBGYN Physician Assistants Group as part of OB/GYN Services. 

Full-Time Day/Evening position, 10 Hour DaysWeekend Rounding and Call RequirementProvides services at Wilmington Hospital, Wilmington, DE as well as primary care sites.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Admit patients on behalf of the supervising physicianComplete history and physicalsDeveloping treatment plansMaking rounds at the direction of the supervising physicianRecording of progress notesOrdering, assessing and interpreting diagnostic tests, and therapeutic modalities, such as medications, treatments and examinationsInitiating referral to appropriate physician or other healthcare professionalInstructing, educating, and counseling patients and families concerning health status, test results, disease process, and discharge planningDischarge planningObtaining consents for procedures for which privileges are heldCore duties may include but are not limited to: IV placement, blood draws, injections, dressing changes, OB and GYN procedures, wound closures, removal of sutures, debridement of wound infections, removal of foreign bodiesProcedures may include but not limited to: Biopsy (cervical, endometrial, skin, vaginal, vulvar), cystoscopy, Pelvic floor training, pessary insertion and removal, Provider performed microscopy (urine, KOH, Wet Prep), AROM, BPP, Circumcision of Newborn, colposcopy, Fetal Scalp Electrode Placement, Hysterosalpingogram, Insertion of Foley bulb for induction, insertion and removal of subdermal contraception, IUD placement, Intrauterine Pressure Catheter Placement, UltrasoundSurgery first and second assist in the operating room including but not limited to Davinci robotics, laparoscopic, and open procedures as well as cesarean sections.

 
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Licensure or license eligible for DelawareNCCPA CertificationBLS, ACLS, NRP, OBIS training for EFM, US in OB/GYN
