Position Purpose: The Scheduler I Assists internal and external customers with clerical tasks within the office. Responsible for projecting a positive, professional demeanor and maintaining a high level of customer service.
What You Will Do:
· Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for patients
· Contributes to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively
· Communicates effectively (written and verbal) with colleagues, patients and family members
· Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.
· Understanding of computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.
· Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork
Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Proficiency in a Windows based computer environment and skill navigating through the Epic and Epic Care. Surgical booking protocols, medical terminology and Epic experience desirable. Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Considerable tact required in most duties to achieve results. Must have the ability to work well with others in a very busy, close environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
