Position Description: Surgical Technologist Department Pool

The Surgical Technologist Department Pool is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of an RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

 

Position Details: 

Location: Morton Plant North Bay Hospital

Status: Pool, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: variable

Weekend Work: Occasional

On Call: Yes

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 10:45am - 7:15pm

On Call: Yes

 

Requirements:

High School Diploma or EquivalentCompletion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program1 year Surgical Technician experienceCST (Surgical Tech) certification preferredBasic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Specific Skills:

Must have knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up as well as laser equipment use and maintenance.Equipment use and maintenance appropriate for positionClinical skills appropriate to positionInterpersonal skills
