About this unit Twenty-five operating rooms perform a vast variety of operative procedures/surgical specialties including Trauma and Open-Heart Surgery Programs. The department provides elective and emergency surgery Monday - Sunday, 24 hours per day. Rotating call, holiday, and weekend assignments. Scope of work The Surgical Technologist Senior will be responsible for maintaining and preparing the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols. Acts as a preceptor and engages with management and education team on surgical technology curriculum. Qualifications + High school diploma Required + Associate's Degree. Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) Preferred + 3 years of independent Surgical Technologist experience.
