Serves the patients from neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** - Scrubs surgical cases in own specialty independently and in other areas with minimal direction. - Maintains knowledge of equipment set-up and functioning and seeks appropriate resource when necessary. - Assists in the circulating role under the direct supervision of R.N. - Prepares for surgical cases in an efficient manner, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia and other O.R. team members. - Provides a safe environment for patient and staff by adhering to standards of aseptic technique and department/hospital policy. - Communicates effectively with patient, staff and physicians. High school diploma or GED required. + Completion of accredited Surgical Technology program or Certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, or enrollment in a certified Nursing Program to become an RN or 15+ years of experience. + 2 years of experience required. + Basic Life Support certified within six (6) weeks of hire.
