Astria Health is hiring for a Part Time Surgical Technician at our Astria Toppenish Hospital. This is a Day Shift position with occasional on call shifts.

 

As a Surgical Tech you are responsible for assisting with surgical procedures in an operating room. You Will:

 

Setting up the instruments and equipment that is required for the procedure, and ensure inventory is complete to meet the needs of the surgery. Preparing the patient for surgery and assisting the Surgeon with required sterile instruments and supplies throughout the operation.Taking a count of all surgical instruments and supplies prior to the operation, reconciling instruments and supplies at the end of the operation.Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery. Acts as a resource regarding workflow, policies and procedures, training new and existing staff, and assists in evaluating staff efficiencies and identifying opportunities for improvement. Orders, maintains, and tracks equipment and supplies for the Surgical Services Department, working closely with vendors, providers, materials management, biomed, and management. Performs scheduling duties to maximize the Operating Room schedule. May participate in committee meetings and meetings with management as needed. Performs other duties as assigned Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization.

 

What you bring to the role:

Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or a current student in academic good standing Current Washington State Surgical Technologist Registration or Licensed Practical Nurse License Basic Life Support certification. Oral and written fluency in the English language.

Preferred Qualifications and Education.

One year of experiencing managing teams of five or more
