Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist
The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.May assist in patient transport.Position Details:

Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCTBasic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red CrossHigh School Diploma or EquivalentSpecific Skills:

Established in 1937, Mease Dunedin Hospital is a 120-bed facility committed to improving the health of everyone it serves. Since then, the facility has undergone a $19-million multi-phase expansion renovating 33,000-square-feet of the hospital's main building and adding 4,000-square-feet of new construction. This expansion project included a new Critical Care Unit, the new surgical center with four operating suites, an endoscopy suite, pre-operative holding unit, post-anesthesia care unit that provides functionality, accessibility and peace of mind for patients, visitors, and staff.
