Surgical Technologist First Assistant Robotics Coordinator (Certified) - General Operating Room - Days
Location: Ephrata Community Hospital, Ephrata, PA

Full Time, Day Shift (80 hours biweekly)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, Includes additional shifts to cover department as needed
Rotation: On call weeknights, weekends and holidays
General Summary
Responsible for the coordination of the DaVinci Robotics Surgical System in the department. Works with the Surgery scheduler to set up the surgery schedule, orders and maintains the inventory of instruments and supplies required for robotics surgery; assists in designing and maintaining robotic surgery protocols; Troubleshoots issues and performs or oversees preventative maintenance; Conducts staff and physician training on robotics equipment and assures that patients are properly prepped and positioned for robotic procedures.
Essential Functions:
+ Responsible for and manages the setup, maintenance, and clinical troubleshooting of the DaVinci Surgical System for and during surgical procedures.
+ Assists at the patient side for surgical procedures.
+ Supervises the preparation and positioning of patients for robotic procedures.
+ Conducts DaVinci system training via training tools.
+ Orders and maintains supplies and inventory for DaVinci instruments, accessories, and ancillary supplies related to robotic surgery.
+ Documents procedure results and assists with procedure data collection and management.
Common Expectations:
+ Attends required in-services and actively participates in self education.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
+ Certificate Program Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training. Required
Work Experience:
+ 3 years Of OR experience. Required and
+ 1 year Robotic Surgery experience Required
Licenses:
+ Certified Surgical First Assistant Upon Hire Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Demonstrates knowledge and skill in applying principles of asepsis and infection control.
+ Demonstrates ability to recognize safety hazards and initiate appropriate corrective action.
+ Demonstrates ability to function effectively and harmoniously as a team member.
