Job Description

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting a surgeon. This role involves preparing operating rooms, arranging equipment, and maintaining sterile conditions. The position requires close collaboration with the surgical team to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of surgical procedures.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.Ensure all necessary supplies are available and in good condition.Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including note-taking.Maintain a sterile environment.Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical supplies.Assist in the cleaning and restocking of the operating room after procedures.Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards.Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with surgical techniques and procedures.Essential SkillsCertification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a hospital or surgical setting.Advanced certifications or specialized training in specific surgical areas.Ability to stand for long periods.Manual dexterity and physical stamina to handle various tasks.Ability to lift and move surgical equipment and patients as needed.Work Environment
