We are currently seeking a SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST in Wausau, Wisconsin to work in the Surgery Department at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. We have openings on our Ortho and General teams.

The Advanced Surgical Technologist is responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures. Competence and confidence are essential for the role. The position requires staff to regularly respond to level II trauma activations and other emergent surgeries. They collaborate with all surgical team members to assure the safe and efficient passage of a patient through surgery. They are responsible for their activities that can interact with, collaborate with, cause, or result in an effect or consequence to or with other practitioners in the surgical environment. This person promotes education of self, peers and students.

Hours: This position is Full Time; 0.8 FTE or 64 hours per pay period. Varied shifts; will include weekend/holiday/on-call rotation.

Experience/Qualifications

Knowledge of surgical standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from a surgical technologist program or related field and/or three or more years of related experience in the operating room.Graduate of a certified surgical technologist program required.Current CST -Certified Surgical Technologist or obtain within 18 months of hire.Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
