Unlock your potential! **Job Summary and Qualifications** The OB Surg Technician is responsible for initiating correct OR procedures including: Assuring correct time counts, item counts, steps to be taken for incorrect counts, knowledge of high-risk patient group category, when to appropriately call for an x-ray, accept responsibility of counts, identifies the correct sequence of counts, understands steps to be taken in an emergency. The OB Surg Technician is also responsible for the appropriate handling of sterile instruments using sterile technique in OR and for Vaginal deliveries. The OB Surg Tech sets up the OR, takes down after cesarean sections, and performs cleaning per tech guidelines. Appropriate handling of instruments after use, including decontamination of instruments, proper storage and transport to sterile processing. Duties may include (but is not limited to) collecting patient data; vital signs and routine IV access. Tasks of stocking ordering, and monitoring supplies. Setting rooms up to prepare for delivery, set up and stock triage, patient rooms. Unit Secretary responsibilities as assigned, such as daily clerical operations of the nursing unit, performing receptionist duties and maintaining supplies/equipment for the unit. Assist in other task on unit as deemed necessary by the charge nurse. **What qualifications you will need:** + High School Graduate / GED + Associates Degree in OB/OR Tech preferred + Certification Surgical Tech (CST) as recognized by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA) + Previous OB related experience + Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Research Medical Center (https://researchmedicalcenter.com) is a 585+ bed hospital.
