Job Description
The Land Survey Designer will specialize in the drafting and design of land surveys for a variety of commercial, private development, and public agency projects in West Michigan. They will use survey field data, collected by the survey field crew, to draft and develop construction plans from land surveys such as Topographic Surveys, Boundary Surveys, ALTA Surveys, and construction staking. They will report to the Land Survey Manager and work in the Grand Rapids office with a hybrid schedule.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with Survey Project Management, Survey Team, and Civil Engineering Team to detail construction plans for project design.Utilize CAD standards for project designs.Create surfaces, alignments, and profiles for grade, utilities, and layout using CAD and Civil 3D.Produce topographic, boundary, ALTA, and As-Built Surveys.Import survey data, collected by survey field team, into Civil 3D.Calculate scope, area, volume, etc. for land survey projects.Must Have Qualifications 3+ years of land survey drafting or design for Topographic, Boundary, ALTA, or As-Built Surveys.3+ years of experience using Civil 3D for survey or civil design projects.\"Nice to Have\" QualificationsSurvey field experience running surveys or collecting data for Topographic, Boundary, ALTA, or As-Built Surveys.Associates or Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.Experience in survey or civil engineering projects for K-12 education/school or commercial projects.Experience operating survey equipment/technology such as Leica, Trimble, Total Station, or related.Work Environment
The office is located in Grand Rapids, MI. The position offers an average of 40 hours per week with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00
