Survey CAD Technician

We are hiring for a Survey CAD Technician to join our Van Note-Harvey business on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Princeton, NJ.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Produce survey plans including (but not limited to) ALTA surveys, boundary surveys, existing conditions plans, and topographic surveys (while utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D). Independently perform boundary line analysis (under supervision of a PLS). Process survey data regularly; this includes evaluating accuracy and sufficiency. Perform survey computations. Process and review laser-scanning data (including HDLS / 3D data). This person will also need to work in the field (on an as-needed basis). Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

 

 

Basic Requirements:

High School Diploma (or equivalent). 2+ years of professional experience working in Field / Land Surveying, Civil Design, and/or Civil Drafting.

 

This person will be expected to work in the field, as-needed, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver’s License.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Formal training in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field of study; Associate’s degree (or higher) is a plus! Relevant credentials (e.g.: NSPS CST) is a plus! Proven expertise working in Land Surveying, preferably with a mix of field and office-based tasks. Proficiency with engineering / CADD tools; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is strongly preferred! Experience with survey-specific & point cloud processing software tools; experience with Trimble Business Center [TBC], Leica Infinity, Cyclone Core / 3DR / Register 360, CloudWorx, and/or Carlson Survey is a plus! Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications. Proven ability to utilize technical mathematics (especially with Geometry and Trigonometry). Proven ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments. Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
