Survey CAD Technician
Job Title: CAD Technician

Job Description

As a CAD Technician, you will provide critical office survey support to the team and Professional Land Surveyors. You will produce essential documents such as Lot Certificates, Grading As-builts, Foundation As-builts, and calculate earthwork volumes to support Housing Services Staff. Additionally, you will respond to data and exhibit requests from both internal and external stakeholders, maintain project status records, and assist with scheduling crews. You will work closely with the Survey Director and Associate Surveyor while performing research, design, and calculations for surveying and mapping projects using Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.

ResponsibilitiesProvide office survey support to office staff and Professional Land SurveyorsProduce Lot Certificates, Grading As-builts, Foundation As-builts, and calculate earthwork volumesRespond to requests for data and exhibits from internal and external stakeholdersMaintain project status records and assist with scheduling of crewsGenerate points for layout data in support of field crewsWork closely with the Survey Director and Associate SurveyorPerform research, design, and calculations for surveying and mapping projects using Civil 3D and Trimble Business CenterPerform other duties as assignedEssential Skills2+ years of boundary survey drafting experienceProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson CAD softwareExperience with as-built surveys, ALTA surveys, construction surveys, Trimble GPS, and microstationKnowledge of title works, legal descriptions, and drone technologyAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma and relevant surveying or drafting experienceProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and BluebeamExperience with Trimble Business Center and GPS data processing is a plus1 year of field survey experience is a plusAttention to detail and self-motivationFamiliarity with reading surveying and engineering plansAbility to conduct relevant computations to determine grades and earthwork volumes
