Job Title: Survey Crew Chief Job Description Our client is looking to hire a Survey Crew Chief to: Oversee the operation and maintenance of survey equipment used on job sites and assist with training others when practical. Prepare field drawings and high-quality notes of each project in accordance with company and general survey standards. Assemble all instruments and measuring devices needed to complete various types of survey work assignments. Ensure that the proper equipment is loaded and charged for the next assignment. Perform mathematical calculations. Read and understand scope, county recorded property plats, and design construction plans. Articulate basic sources of measurement errors. Be fully versed in principles of staking and marking. Adhere to company safety policies along with the use of supplied personal protective equipment (PPE). Train assigned survey crew members in the use of equipment and proper field techniques in order to improve their skillset. Provide positive client/public relations in the field. Be a team player who is accountable to fellow team members in completing assigned tasks. Perform other duties as assigned. Hard Skills + Valid driver's license and clean driving record + Willingness to travel out of town for projects + Minimum 3 years of field and survey technician experience + Comfortable working outside + Familiar with basic computer applications Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Northern Virginia. Work Environment Candidates will be working throughout their Manassas, VA service territory for a tier 1 utility. They typically go straight to the job site, rather than having to go to the office first. Their first project typically starts around 7am.
