Century Engineering, a Kleinfelder company, is currently looking for a Survey Instrument Person to perform a variety of tasks associated with land surveying and civil engineering in our Newark, DE office. Applicant must be able to work as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, topographic, right-of way, transportation, and construction surveys.

 

Responsibilities

Will work primarily in the field on control, boundary, topographic, and construction stakeout surveysPerform mathematical calculationsWilling and able to continually learn new techniques and processes as well as operate various types of equipment to become more efficientAssist other survey crews, if necessaryOccasionally work with other disciplines as neededFrequently travel to various worksites

 

Position Qualifications:

3 months to 2 years of experience in civil and transportation related surveying is preferredIn lieu of experience, college level courses in surveying will be consideredA high school diploma, or equivalent, is requiredAbility to work effectively with other technical professionalsAbility to write legibly and convey technical information as well as the ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions from groups of co-workers, clients, and the publicValid driver's license with demonstrated safe driving practicesThe ability to obtain background clearances to permit working on-site for certain clients is requiredPhysical Requirements:Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignmentsAbility to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rugged, rural or urban surroundingsAbility to lift 50 pounds and walk long distancesRequired to stand for long periods of time and/or walk long distancesMust be able to work overtime as neededThe ability to work outside, in all types of weather, is a requirement
