Survey Manager, Survey Research Practice

ICF is seeking a Survey Manager with a strong project management background, interest in leading and supporting the growth of a dynamic team, demonstrated excellence in customer service and support and a background in survey methodology and survey development to join our Research Science, Survey Solutions and Data Modernization Team. If successful, you will support a variety of federal and state government, nonprofit, for-profit, and academic clients such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Cancer Institute, the National Science Foundation, the Internal Revenue Service, multiple state and city health departments, and multiple health nonprofits.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of survey developers and data managers, coordinating support with project teams, forecasting timelines, budget management and task assignments.

What you’ll do:

Manage the day-to-day activities of one or more concurrent projects.

Serve as the technical point of contact for clients and project teams for survey development, providing excellent service, managing expectations, and producing high quality products.

Assign and oversee survey development responsibilities.

Forecast level of effort and project timelines.

Proactively manage a team of cross-matrixed professionals, ensuring smooth team operations and effective collaboration.

Contribute methodological or technical guidance in support of the web, mail, telephone, in-person, and other data collection and data management activities.

Develop project quality assurance protocols and ensure quality for all product deliverables.

Continuously assess and make recommendations to address any barriers or obstacles to achieving project goals.

Update leadership on progress as directed and on regular reporting cycles.

Supervise and mentor junior staff to define goals, identify opportunities for growth and support development in their careers.

What you need to have: 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in a social science or survey research related field. 

5+ years of experience supervising and managing staff including: managing work assignments and team utilization, defining staff goals, identifying opportunities for staff growth and support development, facilitating constructive dialogue and collaborative problem solving.

Experience maintaining planning and forecasting documentation to support portfolio financial management

5+ years project management or survey project management experience including: coordinating teams and tasks, tracking completion of activities, managing schedules, monitoring project budget, ensuring the quality of work products.

Applied knowledge and development of surveys and other research tools with an interest in learning new technologies 

Applied knowledge of the survey research life cycle

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Knowledge of survey development tools such as ConfirmIT, Voxco, Qualtrics, Survox etc., a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Demonstrated customer service orientation and outstanding level of professionalism in providing client and team support, including excellent communications and strong attention to detail.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills include the ability to take initiative, work well independently as well as part of a team.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$76,848.00 - $130,642.00
