M.C. Dean is seeking a Survey Chief to join our team in Richmond, VA. In this role you will provide quality surveying services to company to ensure construction work complies with design drawings and specifications. Performs survey measurements for job set-up, stake-out, and "As-Built". Provides survey support to job site personnel as required throughout the course of a project. The Survey Chief supervises project fieldwork or project stages, ensuring that the agreed work is carried out efficiently, such that the technical, commercial, contractual, financial and QHSE requirements are met. The Chief must be capable of planning, organizing, managing, coordination, leading, motivating, delegating and communication to achieve optimum balance between costs, time and quality and between costs, benefits and risks.
Job Responsibilities
Manages the daily operations of multiple survey field crews in completion of various survey project types. Directs the use of all satellite and conventional survey equipment utilized in completion of field survey projects.
Maintains clear, detailed field notes. Communicates with the client in the field on behalf of the company. Completes and submits all required paperwork. Reviews field collected survey data to ensure project requirements are met. Trains and mentors subordinate survey crew personnel in the use of all equipment and procedures. Adheres to all company policies and procedures. Performs other duties or completes special projects as assigned.Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma and 5+ years' experience in land surveying with 2 or more years in a Party Chief role required Proficient in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Experience with operations of Total Station, GPS Data collector, and Auto Levels. Able to follow detailed instructions and pay close attention to detail. Able to read construction drawings and specifications. Willing to learn new concepts and adopt to new technologies. Proficient communication skills including verbal and written, interpersonal and organizational. Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff with strong customer service orientation. Ability to commit to the company values. Ability to collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to travel as required which may include out of town travel Must have a valid driver's license. Must have a dependable vehicle with up-to-date inspection sticker to perform work related duties.Desired Qualifications:
Current surveyor license is preferred Experience with RevitAbilities:
Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time. Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance. Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders. Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis. Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English. May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools. Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
