Survey Research Scientist, Strategy and Insights, GCA Marketing
Description Your primary responsibility as a Survey Research Scientist on the Reputation Marketing & Insights team will be to provide research support for our internal employee communications tracking survey. You will be responsible for conducting basic and advanced modeling on attitudinal and perception-based survey data, as well as developing the mechanisms to ensure statistical rigor in our sampling, weighting, and measurement practices. You will dive deep into data, establish strategic territories, and identify audience opportunities in order to guide the broader Internal Corporate Communications team. The work will challenge you to be resourceful, think big while staying connected to the details, translate advanced analytics into strategic direction, and embrace a high degree of change and ambiguity at speed. The scope and scale of what we strive to achieve is immense, but it is also meaningful and energizing. This is an individual contributor role. Key job responsibilities - Conduct basic and advanced modeling on survey data (e.g., regression, structural equation modeling, latent growth curve modeling, Shapley analysis, etc.) - Design new studies and mechanisms to measure the perception impact of internal communications - Develop experiments to improve survey design, data quality, and drive causal learnings - Write code to generate data tables and charts - Manage the data ingestion pipeline, maintain, and improve existing data dashboard - Engage in strategic discussions with partner teams to ensure our research generates actionable and on-point findings - Identify messaging opportunities and inform internal communication strategies that will drive primary KPIs About the team This team sits within the Communications and Corporate Responsibility (CCR) organization. Our focus is on conducting research that tracks reputational trends on a global scale and informs communication strategies for Amazon as a brand. Basic Qualifications - 4+ years of investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products experience - PhD, or Master's degree and 5+ years of quantitative field research experience - Experience communicating qualitative research methods and findings to non-qualitative researchers - Knowledge of R or Python - Ability to run and interpret statistical models (e.g., regressions, structural equation modeling, Shapley models, etc.) Preferred Qualifications - Experience converting research studies into tangible real-world changes - Experience with qualitative research methods and LLM-based analysis techniques Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
