Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Survey Technician to join our Evansville Survey team. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced surveyors and engineers to assist in the collection, analysis, and documentation of survey data for various local, state, and federal projects. ResponsibilitiesAssist in conducting field surveys using various surveying instruments, including GPS, total stations, levels, LiDAR scanners, and drones.Collect and record accurate survey data in the field.Perform data entry and analysis using surveying software and tools.Assist in the preparation of survey maps, plats, and reports.Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of survey tasks.Adhere to safety protocols and maintain equipment in good working condition.Assist with other duties as assigned.Essential Skills2+ years of experience working in the field on heavy civil construction projects.Familiarity with surveying and the equipment used, including GPS and Robotic Total Station.Ability to work in all weather conditions.Comfortable with overnight travel (at least 1 week every 3 months).Additional Skills & QualificationsIdeal candidate would have around 1 year experience as a rodman/instrument operator.Experience working outside.Construction trade experience.Work Environment

This role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions. The survey crew typically works 40-45 hours per week, starting at 7AM, with some potential Saturday work. The majority of projects are within a 90-minute radius of Evansville, with some requiring overnight travel (all expenses paid). The candidate will meet with the Crew Chief at a predetermined location in Evansville and travel to job sites together.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
