Job Title: Survey Technician
Job Description

This candidate will be supporting mass projects and must be knowledgeable of and abide by safety requirements. They should have a good understanding of traffic control and safety procedures for a variety of surveying and construction operations. The candidate will be responsible for the care, cleaning, and use of a variety of surveying tools and equipment, including field radios.

ResponsibilitiesHandle daily operation, checking, and basic field adjustments on transits, total stations, total electronic stations, data collectors, levels, compasses, tribrachs, and tripods.Perform basic surveys such as leveling, traversing, triangulation, trilateration, public land surveys, metes and bounds surveys, construction surveys, and photo control surveys.Coordinate field work for a variety of standard types of surveys under the supervision of a Party Chief.Keep neat and orderly field notes for standard surveying operations including leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, and profile and cross-section surveys.Essential Skills0-1 years of experience with some industry knowledge of surveying.Knowledge of surveying principles and practices.Proficiency in handling surveying equipment including transits, total stations, and data collectors.Strong understanding of GPS and topographic surveys.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with robotic total station setup.Proficient in data collection.Comfortable working outside in different weather conditions.Ability to work well in a team environment.Must be a reliable employee.Work Environment

This is a 40-person company with a family-oriented environment. The company values the success and growth of its employees and offers a company car for travel or mileage reimbursement. Employees interested in pursuing their surveying license will have classes, fees for testing, and yearly renewal reimbursed. The position requires fieldwork, including travel throughout the state and working in outdoor conditions. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some flexibility. The surveying group consists of 3 CAD drafters and 13 surveyors and is rapidly growing. Employees will earn 1 week of PTO and paid holidays while on contract.
