Job Title: Survey CAD TechnicianJob Description: We are seeking a motivated and skilled Survey CAD Technician to join our civil engineering consulting firm located in Herndon, VA. With over 34 years of experience, we specialize in land development projects for both residential and commercial clients. Our Survey Division leverages the latest in survey technology, including GPS surveying equipment and digital electronic data collectors, to ensure precise and efficient results. Responsibilities: + Collaborate with other team members to support the survey department + Process field data for production of plats and plans + Prepare cutsheets supporting construction stakeout + Perform deed, plat, and record drawing research + Prepare boundary composite maps and property descriptions + Process 3-D point cloud data to create surfaces and contours + Maintain company CAD drafting standards + Prepare existing conditions plans and exhibits + Prepare and format ALTA survey documents + Prepare easement plats and descriptions + Prepare As-Built drawings Top Skills & Qualifications: + 2+ years of experience as a Survey CAD Technician + Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Carlson Survey software + Experience with surveying and land development projects + Experience with deed research Preferred Skills & Qualifications: + Field experience moving into the office role + Aspiration to become a Licensed Surveyor (not required, but a plus) Work Environment: The work environment is a family-oriented, open office setting.
