Survey Technician

Responsibilities SCOPE OF WORK: Responsible for electrical layout and as-built survey points accurately and in a timely manner in the field as directed. RESPONSIBILITIES: Able to interpret engineered drawings a plus. Operate Topcon/GPS and Total Station data collectors with little or no supervision. Collect as-built data. Reports to assigned job site location on time, as directed. Understands and complies with company/job safety requirements. Must be able to work scheduled hours as well as overtime, as required, on short notice. Physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites in all weather conditions. Provide work control lines and elevations that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by field staff. Ability to make transition from designated employee parking area to construction areas and be able to gain access to all levels of building/structure, even if only means of access is by O.S.H.A approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but deemed safe for use. Qualifications WHAT YOU OFFER EDUCATION - High school graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent studies/ experience EXPERIENCE - 1-2 years of land survey and/or construction experience. Survey data collection, ability to setup and operate GPS receivers, and robotic total stations. Have a demonstrated ability to read construction plans and specs. AutoCAD/Revit experience a plus. Must possess a strong mathematic background and perform calculations associated with surveying. Strong administrative, computer (Word & Excel), and communications skills.
