Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Survey Technician responsible for deed and reference map plotting, preparation and set-up of survey data for field crews, post-survey field data analysis and conversions, construction layout calculations, as-built surveys and sketches, and grade sheet preparation. Additional tasks include ALTA/NSPS land title survey preparation, topographic analysis, preparation of Metes & Bounds descriptions, FEMA Elevation certificate preparation, and preparation of Subdivision Plans and Lot Consolidation Plans.
ResponsibilitiesPlot deed and reference maps.Prepare and set up survey data for field crews.Analyze and convert post-survey field data as necessary.Perform construction layout calculations, as-built surveys, and sketches.Prepare grade sheets.Prepare ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.Conduct topographic analysis.Prepare Metes & Bounds descriptions.Prepare FEMA Elevation certificates.Prepare Subdivision Plans and Lot Consolidation Plans.Oversee and mentor CAD Drafters, reviewing plans for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards.Assist and work directly with Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers.Create mapping from field crew data collector files, field sketches, digital photographs, and reference maps.Be accountable for plan presentation.Perform survey traverse adjustments.Essential Skills3-5+ years of experience in surveying with AutoCAD Civil 3D.Strong math skills.Proven record of producing clean and accurate plan presentations.Knowledge of field survey operations, engineering, and construction industry.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Ability to learn new software and technologies in a timely manner.Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.Ability to meet project deadlines within budget.Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as a team member.Desire to excel in a fast-paced work environment.Ability to take and apply direction.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.Experience setting up survey data and preparing different survey types and Metes & Bounds descriptions.Field experience is a huge plus.Experience with MicroStation is a huge plus.Motivated by the prospect of becoming a Project Manager is a huge plus.Experience with topography, topographic surveys, GPS, land surveying, and ALTA.Work Environment
This position requires approximately 10 percent travel from the office. Working conditions are typical of a professional office environment and are most often sedentary. The role is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. The position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
