Survey Technician II

We are actively seeking a Survey Technician II with a planned career path to join our dedicated team of professionals in Lehigh Valley, PA, to support our existing survey team in Harrisburg, State College, and Pittsburgh as we continue to provide services for our current client prospects in eastern Pennsylvania. We are looking for a motivated, self-starter and independent Survey Technician or Surveyor in Training with five to ten years of varied experience to support our municipal, water and wastewater, transportation and land development survey endeavors.  
Key Responsibilities

Collect project documents to ensure an effective process in the performance of the surveys.Collect and review of property records to define property, rights of way, or easement boundaries.Develop initial calculations and drafting utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D to provide for a field-to-finish capacity while teamed with a CAD Survey Technician. Assist Surveyors by performing collection activities on project sites using survey related instruments ranging from Trimble Total Stations, GNSS Receivers, and Digital/Automatic Levels. Ability to operate Scanners and UAV is a plus. Perform survey calculations and data review through Trimble Business Center Office to confirm quality data.Review and comprehend record plans to include land development, railroad, and right of way.Prepare survey mapping and plan(s), property descriptions and exhibits, with the ability to confirm accuracy.Prepare or direct the preparation of Land Title and As-Built plans.Communicate effectively with the team and Professional Land Surveyor to provide survey and mapping review along with property line decisions. Maintain sound records, file organization and proper care of survey equipment.Provide quality public relations to the community and clients while maintaining a positive image of the firm.

This role is designed primarily for field surveys.  It will be based in a local office with a workspace and laptop and offers the option for hybrid work. The position is managed by Surveyors and supported by a team of Survey Technicians from Harrisburg, PA. The main focus will be on Eastern PA, with additional work in the Harrisburg area. A willingness to be cross-trained and to participate in engineering tasks is essential.    

Requirements High school diploma with 5+ years of varied field experience in land surveying Associate’s Degree in Surveying or related field is beneficial.Professional Surveyor License or desire/plan to obtain license is a plus, but not required.Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center Office, Microsoft Suite programs, survey equipment and coordinate geometry concepts.  Knowledge of MicroStation, Leica Cyclone 3DR, Pix4D Mapper, and DJI software a plus. Team player that is self-motivated, can work independently, and has excellent planning skills.Strong communication (verbal, written, and listening) and records organizational skills.This position will require the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.Must have the flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices requiring overnight or weekly travel. Valid U.S driver’s license is required.Has the legal right to work in the U.S.
