About the role:
We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Surveyor at our Coppabella and Moorvale Joint Venture Mine. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.
Reporting to the Survey Superintendent, this position will be responsible for providing accurate open cut surveys at the mine, your work will be contributing to the success of the technical services and operational team. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team who will provide training, mentorship and development in all aspects of open cut mine surveying.
Duties will include:
Operating a manual light vehicle in an open cut mining environment Undertake task in accordance with the site safety and health management system Develop your skills as a surveyor, and continually advance through Associate Surveying Degree. Provide accurate survey support and data in accordance with statutory and company standards. Maintain survey standards in field and office environment. Conduct surveys utilising GNSS, terrestrial laser scanner and UAV technology. Take an active role in the daily running of the Survey Office (e.g. Equipment maintenance, weekly reports etc.) Demonstrate a commitment to safety behaviours in the workplace.
The lifestyle:
This position is initially offered on a Monday – Friday (9 day Fortnight) roster, camp accommodation or accommodation assistance will be provided to candidates who wish to reside locally.

Desire to use surveying and engineering applications such as Point Studio and Vulcan. Seeking to gain a formal qualification in Surveying.
