Job Description
As a Surveyor, you will coordinate surveying tasks throughout the duration of construction projects. You will identify and escalate drawing discrepancies within building layouts, establish baseline-building controls and work points, and ensure coordinated work between trades. You will also conduct As-Built Surveys and prepare electronic data for submission to team members, ensuring the accuracy and security of surveying equipment.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate surveying tasks throughout the duration of construction projects.Identify and escalate drawing discrepancies within building layouts to the supervisor.Establish baseline-building controls and work points, calculate, coordinate, and layout points with accuracy based on project documents.Ensure coordinated work between trades utilizing discipline contract drawings, shop drawings, and submittals.Conduct As-Built Surveys and prepare electronic data for submission to team members.Engage, interact, and coordinate work with other team members.Conduct daily inspections of surveying equipment and track equipment calibrations.Clean surveying equipment to ensure readiness for the next day's work.Order surveying supplies as directed.Ensure the security of equipment while conducting surveying operations.Assist with overall site safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance of trade employees and trade partners with applicable safety codes, regulations, and jobsite security.Complete time sheets, production tracking/management, extra work tickets, daily construction reports, and required safety paperwork daily as directed.Promote teamwork in daily operations and maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees.Perform other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma and a minimum of 3 years of surveying experience.OSHA 30-hour certification.Knowledge and use of surveying equipment.Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in emergency situations.Proficient computer skills.Ability to comprehend safety instructions, signage, and understand written safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers.Willingness to travel and accommodate night and weekend work as needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with GPS and concrete surveying.Familiarity with grid lines and land surveying.Work Environment
The work environment is based at the Port of Miami, Royal Caribbean terminal. The role involves handling surveying equipment, working with various construction documents, and ensuring safety compliance. The position may require night and weekend work, and maintaining a clean and secure workspace is essential.
