Job Title: SurveyorJob Description The Surveyor is responsible for the operation of a field survey crew. The major objectives are ensuring the quality, accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity of work, meeting regulatory requirements, maintaining public relations, ensuring safety, adhering to schedules and budgets, and providing responsive service to clients. The role involves organizing field work, directing crew members, maintaining a safe work environment, protecting and maintaining equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collecting field data and locating features, delivering data to the office, and maintaining accurate records of work and expenses. Some overnight travel may be required. The position requires a lot of walking outside year-round through all kinds of terrain and in extreme heat and cold. Responsibilities + Operate a field survey crew. + Ensure quality, accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity of work. + Meet regulatory requirements and maintain public relations. + Ensure safety and adherence to schedules and budgets. + Provide responsive service to clients. + Organize field work and direct crew members. + Maintain a safe work environment. + Protect and maintain equipment and vehicles. + Accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features. + Deliver data to the office. + Maintain accurate records of work and expenses. Essential Skills + High School Diploma or GED. + 5-6 years of progressive experience in survey field operations with no less than 2 years as a survey crew chief. + Proficiency with survey equipment (total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment). + Experience running survey crews. + Training and leading new surveyors. + Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record. Additional Skills & Qualifications + CST certification preferred. + EFB data collection experience preferred. + Familiarity with Trimble equipment preferred. + Transportation Survey experience preferred. + Good technical skills: process-oriented, steady, helpful, analytical, problem solver, methodical, consistent, detail-oriented, precise, and structured.
