Your OpportunityOur Winnipeg office is accepting applications for a full time, permanent Surveyor position.
Your Key Responsibilities Ability to perform control surveys, topographic surveys, construction layout and grading; Operate and maintain survey equipment such as RTK GPS, total stations, survey controllers, auto-levels and use hand tools (sledghammers, ice augers, etc.); Operate a boat and motor and a boating license is an asset. Physical work including digging, chipping, hammering, walking, working on water and ice, and working in rugged terrain; Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; Willing and able to travel away from home occasionaly (typically less than a week); Ability to work alone in remote locations and in a variety of weather conditions. Able to work long days and occasional weekend work when required; Keeping field notes, sketches; making computations and calculations as required; Office duties include editing/processing of field data and preparing CAD drawings of the surveys. Able to pull information from Cad drawings and export for layout in the field; Flexibility to take on a variety of different tasks/work when required. Follow all Stantec Health and Safety protocols and practices; Able to get security clearances for projects if required Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.Your Capabilities and Credentials Proficient using a variety of survey equipment including: automatic levels, laser levels, RTK GPS and robotic total stations; preference given to those with a good knowledge of Trimble equipment and software; Knowledge and use of depth sounders, drones and scanners is an asset Able to read and interpret construction drawings Have a working knowledge of Autocad (version 2019 or higher) and Microsoft Office software Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications; Able to work independently, solve problems, and plan your activities to meet budgets and deadlines; Valid drivers license and reliable personal vehicle able to be used for work (compensation paid). Education and Experience Diploma or degree in a recognized Geomatic Engineering/Technology program; Minimum 2-5 years previous related surveying experience is required
