Job Title: Surveyor (Instrument Operator)
Job Description

We are currently seeking a Jr/Intermediate level Surveyor (Instrument Operator) with a minimum of 3 years of experience. The ideal candidate should be available to travel within the region and possess extensive knowledge in performing various types of boundary, topographic, and control surveys.

ResponsibilitiesPerform boundary, topographic, and control surveys.Operate total stations/data collectors, conventional levels, and static/RTK GPS equipment.Set up and operate equipment quickly and efficiently.Utilize TDS software proficiently.Learn and apply survey codes quickly.Clear underbrush for instrument sighting.Set wooden stakes and iron pins into the ground as directed.Transport equipment and supplies as needed.Measure distances with total station and create perpendicular angles with optical square.Obtain bearings and angles using a compass.Read horizontal and vertical angles with total station.Obtain readings from standard, direct reading, cut and fill rods.Use plumb rods, plumb bobs, and disposable targets for sighting.Assist with other surveying tasks as needed.Essential Skills3+ years of experience in surveying.Experience with total stations/data collectors, conventional levels, and static/RTK GPS equipment.Proficiency with TDS software.Quick learner of survey codes.Minimum knowledge of land surveying practices and techniques.Working knowledge of modern survey devices.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Robotic total stations and digital levels is a plus.Experience running a crew of surveyors is preferred.Formal education or real-world experience in surveying.Work Environment

The position is based out of the Raleigh, NC territory, with up to 20% travel within the state. The role may involve working in various outdoor environments, requiring physical activities such as clearing underbrush and setting stakes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00
