Built Ecology is WSP’s US buildings sustainability practice, providing a broad range of services including sustainability strategy and planning, goal setting and workshop facilitation, high-performance design assistance, complex building performance analysis, building certifications, energy and GHG master planning, and building performance verification. We work across a wide range of project types and scales, from master planning and district infrastructure to building design and construction, to ongoing performance and operations. Built Ecology has been directly responsible for driving many leading projects across the globe, including LEED Platinum buildings, Living Building Challenge and WELL projects, Net Zero energy and water projects, EcoDistricts, corporate green building programs, and decarbonization of large building portfolios. Our solutions are typically innovative, integrated, data-driven, and practical. This Opportunity WSP has an immediate need for a **Sustainability Consultant** with a specialization in LEED and WELL certifications to join Built Ecology, WSP’s growing buildings sustainability practice. This position will/could work out of WSP's offices in LA, CA, Seattle, WA, Denver, CO and New York. The individual will grow and strengthen our team by securing, staffing, managing, and delivering complex projects and client-facing engagements. Candidates should be passionate about sustainability, exhibit technical knowledge in LEED certifications and demonstrate leadership skills and ability to deliver high‐quality products through appropriate time and priority management while leveraging resources and removing barriers and obstacles for the project team. Ideal candidates will exhibit the following characteristics: + Passionate about creating sustainable, healthy, resilient, and equitable built environment + Driven to create solutions that deliver ambitious high-performance design outcomes + Background in sustainability, building design, and high-performance design analytics + Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication Duties and Responsibilities: + Working with project managers to lead sustainability strategy and certification tasks on a wide variety of projects + Provide strategic and technical sustainability support to building design and construction team + Facilitate conversations between multiple stakeholders to devise sustainability strategies and run client and project meetings + Develop and oversee the production of clear, comprehensive, and detailed deliverables + Provide mentoring and support for staff + Have a leadership presence in the industry and provide subject matter expertise within WSP + Support continued improvement of team resources and processes Who You Are **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, building science, built environment, and/or sustainability + 3-5+ years of professional experience in sustainability consulting and green building certifications + Experience with third-party green building rating systems (LEED, WELL, Fitwel, Passive House, LBC or related) + Knowledge of the building design and construction process, ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings + Knowledge of sustainable products and services + Ability to understand and coordinate energy, daylight, comfort, and other modeling deliverables + Ability to work efficiently in a team environment + Excellent verbal communication and writing skills + Attention to detail and highly organized + Self-starter, able to work independently as well as multi-task **Preferred Qualifications:** + 3+ years experience leading strategy and completing documentation for LEED and/or WELL projects + Experience providing detailed trainings and presentations on sustainability, green building, healthy buildings, and resilient design + Experience with corporate sustainability consulting, Science-Based Targets, and developing sustainability and carbon reduction programs for organizations WSP Benefits: WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. Compensation: Expected Salary (all locations): $87,700 - $120,000 WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
