Overview

This internship role is dedicated to driving the direction of our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, with a special focus on researching, analyzing, and executing impactful summer-long projects that profoundly influence our overall sustainability strategy. We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual with a passion for ESG, sustainability, and its integration into the fabric of hotel real estate and the broader hospitality industry.

Responsibilities Collect and analyze data related to the company's ESG performance, including metrics on environmental impact, social responsibility, and corporate governance.Draft reports and presentations on ESG performance for internal and external stakeholders.Support Highgate’s existing environmental sustainability programs through projects around: energy and water conservation, third-party eco-certifications (e.g. carbon neutral certification), electric vehicle charging infrastructure, food waste prevention, biodiversity protection, responsible sourcing, and sustainable aviation.Conduct research and analysis on ESG trends and practices to inform company strategy and decision-making.Assist in the enhancement of ESG reporting platforms, develop functional specifications for suggested enhancements and work with teams of ESG reporting partners to identify and resolve technical problems and continuously improve their capabilities.      Leverage internal and external resources to continue the efficiency and professionalism of our sustainability processes.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of ESG programs and initiatives and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Qualifications Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Energy, Data Science, Information Sciences, Finance or Accounting or comparable professional experience required.Proficiency with Excel, Power BI or Tableau, and PowerPoint.Competent in R, Python, JavaScript, or equivalent preferred.Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently and professionally with minimal supervision.MBA candidates are welcome.A strong desire to develop into a future ESG/Sustainability leader within a dynamic organization.

Salary - $20/hr for 40 hour week/ 10 weeks
