As the Sustainability Manager you will be responsible for leading the implementation of our sustainability strategy. There will be specific emphasis on waste reduction, single-use reduction, carbon reduction, sustainable and diverse procurement, implementing sustainable practices, collaborating with functional departments to tell the sustainability story to our guests and clients, and building a culture of sustainability. 

 

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position ranges from $85,00 to $95,000, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if applicable to the position). This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.​

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Job Responsibilities Degree in a subject related to sustainability; Bachelor’s degree required (business, environment and/or sustainability). 3 - 5+ years’ experience working in sustainability team or specialized consultancy. Knowledge of and experience with social and environmental matters, including interconnected issues; understands business and operations of large food company. Inquisitive mind set with strong analytical abilities. Strategic thinker looking outside to bring new approaches to continually improve internal effectiveness. Highly analytical, ability to synthesize information and offer recommendations/solutions. Ability to work independently and manage multi-stakeholder engagement from vision to implementation. Ability to communicate and facilitate dialogue with those holding diverse and opposing views, by finding common ground and identifying opportunities to move forward. Courage and conviction in managing difficult conversations. Resilient, and able to adapt to challenges, identify underlying concerns, share ideas and develop effective responses or elevate to higher management. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Organized with a strong attention to detail and follow through. Qualifications

 

Implement a comprehensive sustainability program for dining and catering operations. Engage managers to implement and manage creative sustainability initiatives. Manage, Analyze, and Report on client and enterprise sustainability KPIs and metrics. Provide guiding leadership regarding sustainability to operations team – bolstering success. Work with operations team on waste, energy, and water conservation initiatives. Facilitate on-going sustainability training for management and hourly employees. Develop and facilitate workshops, content, and meetings regarding sustainability. Plan educational field trips for managers to local suppliers, waste infrastructure facilities, etc… Supervise, train, and monitor the activities of the operational team to accomplish sustainability goals in partnership with general management team. Partner with Managers and FLAs in kitchens to educate and provide in the moment coaching on sustainable food practices.
