About the role 

Treasury Americas, a recognized leader in sustainable wine production, is seeking a Sustainability Manager to execute our sustainability strategy and ensure operational excellence in environmental sustainability, resource efficiency, and responsible business practices.

This role will build on our award-winning leadership in sustainability in Napa Valley and Paso Robles, bringing new ideas and enthusiasm to power our business. It will ensure we invest in both technology and practices that lighten our footprint, reducing climate and transitional risk. The Sustainability Manager will drive climate action, water stewardship, sustainable sourcing, and circular economy initiatives, ensuring that Treasury Americas continues to be at the forefront of sustainable luxury wine production.

The position will provide keen sustainability insights, excellent communication, data-driven decision-making, and project execution while managing two direct reports—the Sustainability Analyst and Sustainability Project Engineer.

 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Operational Leadership & Execution

Execute the Americas Sustainability Roadmap aligned with Treasury Wine Estates’ global Net Zero and sustainability goals. Serve as a regional sustainability leader, ensuring best-in-class environmental stewardship across vineyard, winery and packaging operations. Partner with winemaking, engineering, maintenance, and procurement teams to integrate sustainability into core business operations. Drive sustainable practices through the commercial side of Treasury Americas, both in retail and Direct to Consumer at our tasting rooms. Provide operational direction to the Sustainability Analyst and Sustainability Project Engineer, ensuring projects meet deadlines and deliver measurable results

Operational & Environmental Sustainability

Supervise energy, water, waste, and carbon footprint management, driving progress towards Net Zero by 2030. Lead environmental data collection, analysis, and reporting in the Americas, guided by industry standards (GRI, CDP, TCFD, SASB, ASSB etc.).

Project & Resource Efficiency Management

Partner with the Sustainability Project Engineer to implement high-impact sustainability projects in energy efficiency, water conservation, and carbon reduction. Drive adoption of renewable energy solutions and resource-efficient technologies across TWE’s operations. Supervise sustainability capital expenditure (CapEx) projects, ensuring cost-effective execution and measurable impact.

Supply Chain & Circular Economy

Collaborate with procurement teams to integrate sustainability criteria into supplier contracts and sourcing decisions. Advance TWE’s packaging performance through reduced carbon intensity, increased recyclability and use of recycled content. Engage growers, bottlers, and logistics teams to reduce Scope 3 emissions and enhance circular economy practices.

Stakeholder Engagement & External Leadership

Represent Treasury Americas in industry forums, regulatory engagements, and sustainability partnerships. Partner with certification bodies, academic institutions, and sustainability consultants to drive best practices. Work with corporate communications to promote sustainability achievements and storytelling.

 

About you 

 

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in sustainability strategy, project execution, or environmental compliance. Strong knowledge of carbon reduction, water stewardship, circular economy, and ESG reporting. Expertise in sustainability certifications and regulatory compliance. Project management experience, particularly in large-scale sustainability initiatives. Strong data analysis and visualization skills (Power BI, Excel, Life Cycle Assessment tools, sustainability reporting platforms). Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Preferred:

Experience in wine, food & beverage, or agriculture industries. Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD), and wine industry certifications and bodies. Understanding of renewable energy, waste management, sustainable packaging and regenerative agriculture.

 Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this position is $112,000 to $142,000 per year and other benefits. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of our St Helena location.  If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
