Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Sustainability & Resilience Specialist to join our team!
As a member of the Sustainability & Resilience sector team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of multi-disciplinary teams that deliver high-quality sustainability and resilience (S&R) services in the civil engineering sector. You will collaboration with design, construction, and client teams. You will hone your technical skills as well as gain experience in business development and employee engagement in support of the Parsons Sustainability core value.
What You'll Be Doing:
Applying sustainability and resilience concepts and analyses to complex and rewarding civil infrastructure projects (e.g. transportation and water conveyance).Preparing calculations, studies, and reports related to sustainability and climate resilienceDeveloping client deliverables and preparing third-party sustainability certification applications (e.g. LEED or Envision).Interacting with geographically diverse and interdisciplinary delivery teams.What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, environmental planning, or related field3+ years of experience in sustainability and resilience in the built environmentFamiliarity with third-party project certifications (e.g.: U.S. Green Building Council/LEED, Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure/Envision, etc.), at least one credential preferred.Ability to develop sustainability oriented technical provisions, studies, and plans.Exceptional verbal and written communication and attention to detail.Mastery of MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, or similar reporting, visualization, and analytical tools.Ability to manage and prioritize tasks.Ability to work as a member of the team or autonomously, as needed.What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Exposure to climate risk and vulnerability assessments and mitigation plans.Familiarity with ISO 14040 and 14044 compliant Environmental Life Cycle Assessments and greenhouse gas inventory preparation, and ISO 31000 Risk Management principles and frameworkUnderstanding of the design and construction processes for buildings and/or transportation infrastructure.Exposure to contractual scope, staffing, and budget managementProficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and architectureMinimum Clearance Required to Start:
