Our Internship Program at WM is a 12-week paid program focused on supporting your education with experiential learning. As a WM Intern, you will interact with and conduct various duties and responsibilities for one or more functional teams to develop new skills and learn new areas of the business. Interns gain practical experience, relevant to their field of study, prior to college graduation. This Intern position is within WM’s Digital Sustainability group and is an immersion experience across departments including Sustainability, Computer Science, Software Engineering Design, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS). Interns will generally work as part of a team within the Digital group, but may also work in larger, cross-functional teams that include members from other Digital groups. Intern project topics, exposure, and activity will be selected based on the Intern’s interest areas and the needs of the Digital Sustainability group. The position will include opportunities for exposure to WM’s core Sustainability business. A successful candidate must be willing and able to build relationships and reach out to other groups within WM to gather information. For a technical candidate, preferred skills may include Snowflake knowledge, dbt,, AWS Glue The Digital Sustainability team supports WM’s Sustainability initiatives.
