We are seeking a dynamic Sustaining Mechanical Engineer to join our Sustaining Engineering team, driving improvements in mechanical systems to support Operations and Quality departments.
ResponsibilitiesWhat You’ll Do:
Lead sustaining engineering projects to address operational and quality challenges.Troubleshoot and resolve issues in components and assemblies.Maintain and ensure the integrity of engineering data (e.g., BOMs, CAD, and specifications).Develop and test innovative solutions to meet customer needs and industry standards.Create and refine designs, drawings, and prototypes using SolidWorks.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems into larger projects.Validate prototypes and products through testing to ensure safety and quality compliance.Provide technical support for manufacturing and assembly processes.Stay current on trends and advancements in mechanical engineering. QualificationsWhat You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s a plus).3+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in consumer products.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.Solid knowledge of mechanical principles, material science, and manufacturing processes.Team-oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills.Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.Preferred Skills:
Experience with PLM software like Teamcenter (Siemens).Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis.Familiarity with injection-molded design and plastics/resins.Proficiency in FEA, CFD, or other simulation tools.Why Hayward?
