SVP, Deposit & Consumer Lending Strategy Director

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Deposits and Consumer Lending Strategy to lead our dynamic team in shaping and executing Eastern’s commercial & consumer deposits and consumer lending product strategy. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this pivotal role will involve overseeing the development, management, and enhancement of our comprehensive suite of commercial & consumer banking deposits and consumer lending products, ensuring they meet the needs of our diverse customer base while aligning with the business goals and driving growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of deposit and lending banking trends and a strong track record in product management.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**1. Strategic Leadership:**
+ Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for commercial & consumer deposits and consumer lending products that aligns with the overall business objectives and customer needs.
+ Lead market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats within the consumer banking landscape.
2 **. Product Development and Management:**
+ Oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring timely and successful delivery of new products and enhancements.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, compliance, and technology, to ensure product offerings are innovative, competitive, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
**3. Financial Performance:**
+ Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate product performance, profitability, and market share.
+ Monitor and analyze financial results, identifying opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization within the consumer banking portfolio.
**Customer Experience:**
+ Champion a customer-centric approach in product design and development, ensuring that products meet the evolving needs and preferences of our target audience.
+ Utilize customer feedback, data analytics, and market insights to drive product improvements and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
**5. Team Leadership and Development:**
+ Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
+ Provide guidance and support in professional development and career progression for team members.
**6. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication**
+ Collaborate with senior leadership to align product strategies with organizational goals and secure necessary resources for product initiatives.
+ Maintain strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry associations to leverage insights and best practices.
+ Prepare and present product performance reports and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the board of directors.
**7. Risk Management and Compliance:**
+ Ensure all products adhere to regulatory requirements and risk management policies.
+ Proactively identify potential risks associated with product offerings and develop mitigation strategies.
**Required qualifications and Skills:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
+ 10+ years of experience in consumer banking product management, with a focus on deposit and lending products.
+ Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making. Candidate should possess the quantitative acumen infer trends, campaign performance analytics and customer insights to drive decision making.
+ Extensive knowledge of the product development life cycle, technical design, and data analytics.
+ Exemplary Leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams and a successful track record of influencing and driving results across a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
+ Talented communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Extensive experience using PowerPoint to develop compelling presentations that can tell a story.
+ Demonstrated ability to think innovatively & creatively with a passion for learning to keep abreast of latest trends and keeping a finger on the pulse of customer needs and preferences.
+ Independent worker with exceptional ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment while carrying multiple projects at any given time. Strong problem-solving skills with an excellent ability to prioritize and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
